Nigel has been making his unique and internationally recognized style of pottery for the last thirty years, twenty four of them spent living and working in the Forest of Dean.
The forest is integral to Nigel’s way of working , from clay dug in his garden, used to decorate some of his work, to the tonnes of wood that come from the local sawmills to fuel his kiln; a process which he describes as “unpredictable and challenging, the flames adding that extra quality to the finished glaze”.
Nigel’s pots are designed and made for use on the dinner table, his plates, serving dishes and cups adding a dynamic talking point to any meal. His thrown and altered pots combine bold contemporary shapes, his unique style of decoration and a strong sense of function.
