The elements and evolved forms in nature are the principle influences of my ceramic sculpture. The representation of the organic form evokes ideas of
the natural cycle of life and my latest work reflects this.
My use of local brick clay continues. It is a material which has a texture and colour that does not always need excessive decoration. I am able to use this clay in a number of ways, directly carved, press moulded, slip cast and
hand formed.
My work continues to develop and evolve; a reflection and direct response to the elements of nature that feed my inspiration.
All my outdoor pieces are enhanced using glazes, engobes or oxides and then fired to 1190°C.
For my new work, I have returned to use porcelain, in a small scale for interior use.
