After a career in teaching art in Midlands' Schools, David White retired early and became a full-time artist in 1996.
Much of his recent work has used geometric man-made forms alongside organic qualities in landscape. The sources are often imaginative but he also refers to objects or the human figure in the studio and the landscapes he has visited as starting points.
“I have always enjoyed making things. Handling materials, shaping them and forming them into finished objects which 'feel right' I find satisfying. I don't feel the need to 'copy nature' so this allows me to explore structure, surface and colour with freedom."
New work by David White will be in the gallery and on the website shortly.
