Gail Brodholt

Gail Brodholt is a printmaker of contemporary urban landscapes. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Printer-Paintmakers (RE). Born and raised in South London, she graduated from Kingston-upon-Thames University with a degree in Fine Art in the early 80s and lives and works in South London.
“I’m interested in unconsidered and unnoticed places that people pass through and the sense we all have that between here and there anything can happen (although of course it almost always doesn’t!) When you are travelling, you are free from normal life with all the anticipating of an adventure ahead of you.
“Like everyone else, I’ve been affected by these extraordinary times and my recent work reflects to an extent the City as it has been emptied and changed by the pandemic. The essence of future promise still remains, however.”
