Kate Clark - K Ceramics

Kate developed an interest in 3D at Foundation Course at St Martin’s School of Art, but ended up taking the 2D path studying and qualifying with a degree in Graphic Design. Fast forward to 2016, the life-changing event of a move to New York City meant she had the opportunity to take evening pottery classes. She instantly became hooked. Clay has given her the perfect medium with which to express herself. Kate has evolved a style inspired by Japanese simplicity and appreciation of the hand-made, to enjoy using and looking at. She combines this with textures and patterns derived from what she sees around her. With every pattern hand carved, each piece is unique. She very much loves the combination of the carving with a calming, neutral colour palette. Kate enjoys making small collections or one-of-a kind pieces that bring joy from her studio in her garden in London.
