Linda Judkins

Themes to do with light, air and watery atmosphere characterize much of Linda’s work.
These more recent smaller oil paintings feature aspects of coastal light, and embody fragments of time spent during holidays from childhood to the present day.
The structure of, and shapes within each painting evolve from studio work, drawing upon memories and studies that combine time’s fleeting nature with the stillness of recollection. This results in each having a softened, fluid quality incorporated into more stable configurations.
“The process of unifying (into pictorial form) the passage of time with stored sensory perceptions underpins all my work.” (Linda Judkins)
