Peter Shread trained at Birmingham College of Art and Crafts and then taught at secondary schools in Dudley .
Elected R.B.S.A. member in 2002 his prints have been exhibited throughout the Midlands and around the country .
His work was exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibitions id 2012, 2013 and 2015 .
While the main focus of his work is landscape, he has also made prints of the local canal network and another series featuring musicians and orchestras inspired by visits to the C.B.S.O. concerts. The prints are all wood and linocuts.
His prints of Midland and Welsh landscapes strive to combine a strong decorative sense, while revealing the topography of the land . This has led to a number of public art commissions for Dudley MBC and Midland Metro.
In 2006 he won the R.B.S.A Open Print Prize and the Printmaking Today prize
Recently he has concentrated on painting landscapes ,which remain his main inspiration.
