Rosa Wiland Holmes

Rosa Wiland Holmes –Ceramic Artist
Growing up on the beautiful island of Bornholm in Denmark Rosa was always inspired by the beauty of nature on the island.
Starting out as a Fashion designer, she discovered ceramics seven years ago and has been obsessed ever since. The potential provided by the interaction of clay, oxides and glaze fascinates Rosa and she has attended numerous courses and uses every spare moment since to explore these possibilities.
Nature provides balance and inspires all of Rosa’s work. The sweeping waves, rocky cliffs, or the smoothness of a stone on the beach. As well as beautiful female shapes and curves.
It all ignites her imagination. Immediately considering what materials to use and how to treat them to recreate the colours, textures and essence of what she see’s.
Rosa uses different clay to get the effects she looks for in each piece.
Inspired by nature, Rosa seeks to capture its beauty in her all work. Trying to create outstanding works of art which draw you in to explore shapes, texture and colours. Above all she seeks to communicate her passion for the medium and the landscape that has inspired her.
Rosa is a member of the Craft Potters Association, London Potters, Visual Images Group and Bucks Art Weeks.
Her work has been exhibited in the Bevere Gallery Worcester, Milton Keynes Gallery, Woburn Art Gallery, Westminster Reference Library, Milton Keynes Central Library and WAES Creative Graduates exhibition 2018. Rosa is featured in the book Maker-Artists of Milton Keynes by Linda Wilks & Ann Pegg, 2017.
