Victoria is a printmaker and her subject matter is often sparked by a chance remark, a poem, fairy tales, classic legends or just ‘out of the blue’. Her childhood, in the wilds of Cornwall, was spent surrounded by dogs and horses, and she has been drawing fauna and flora ever since. Originally trained as a textile designer at Falmouth School of Art she went on to work in the textile industry. In the 1980s she studied printmaking at Hereford College of Art, and more recently at West Dean College and the Sidney Nolan Trust.
Since becoming a printmaker her work has become more illustrative, incorporating her love of pattern and textures and almost always featuring natural forms including animals and birds, sometimes in strange juxtapositions.
Victoria uses several printmaking techniques including etching, linocut, wood- engraving, monoprint, and collagraph, her preferred medium, to create her limited edition work.
