Wendy Lawrence discovered clay on an art foundation course over 20 years ago. She fell in love with the versatility of the material and her passion hasn’t wavered. She divides her time between making her own work, teaching and collaborating with other makers and disciplines. She enjoys experimentation, sharing knowledge and encouraging others to get the bug too.
The inspiration for her work comes from natural form and texture, also architecture and antiquity. She enjoys making work on a varied scale and carving into the clay body. She uses volcanic glazes and high fires the work to stoneware temperature. The work can be displayed in interior or exterior spaces.
