The Summer Show

We are around halfway through our Summer Show and we thought it would be interesting to share the views about the Show that we have had so far. From our perspective, we feel excited to have curated a high quality and varied show that demonstrates how good ceramics enhance the dining table.

The many visitors that have been to the Show have responded very positively and have welcomed the range of makers we had brought together. This has been manifested in their comments and importantly their desire to purchase. We have given emphasis to the quality of each maker and the individuality of the design and decoration. It has been most encouraging to have comments underpinning our principles. As we hoped, many people see – as we do – that decorative utility ceramics add so much to the daily business of eating and drinking. Indeed, a cup or small bowl may be a modest item, but it can have strong presence and appeal, when shown well.

So, we have a Show this Summer which has proved popular and attractive. There will be another month when this work will be on show and if you haven’t been yet – put it in your diary. One major aspect of utilitarian ceramics is that they can and will enhance daily living. Do come and see for yourself.
