Meredith Owen
Born in 1988 near Stroud in the Cotswolds, Meredith Owen lives and works in Cornwall. Raised by two artists in a converted chapel surrounded by nature, she developed an early appreciation for the landscape that continues to inform her practice.
A graduate of Falmouth University with a degree in Fine Art Photography, she later worked at Bellerby & Co. Globemakers in London, where she refined her attention to craftsmanship and detail.
Her current work explores the relationship between humanity and the natural world through finely detailed paintings on wooden panels. Walking and observation are central to her process, offering a means to slow down and engage with the landscape. By leaving areas of bare wood visible, she acknowledges the material’s origin and invites viewers to reflect on their own connection to the land.
