Description

Ceramic wall panel, mounted on mdf and framed without glass in a handmade solid oak frame.

Made with a process realted to mono-printing using slips on a textured plaster block and using slab of clay like a sheet of paper. The process creates a unique composition with fine relief detail. Once bisque fired the work is layered with oxide washes and engobes. After firing it is finished with stone wax to give the surface a slight sheen.

This piece was made at Edgelands at County Hall Pottery and started from and image of the overhead gantries at the aggregate works at Angerstein Wharf on the Thames.
