Hopefully it is not too early to hope for the pleasures of Spring – fingers crossed! Nevertheless, our have featured maker this month that will bring Spring-like pleasure to our visitors is Anne-Marie Jacobs.
Anne–Marie lives on Mersea Island amid the Essex salt marshes. This is the first time we have exhibited her work at Bevere and we are delighted to have this opportunity. Most recently, aerial photographs of the wild area surrounding her home and studio have inspired her making. Looking at the range of her work it is not difficult to see how influential her environment has been on her decoration. The sculptural quality of her work is achieved through slip-casting and here we have another maker who has an immediate appeal through shaping and colour. We are in no doubt that Anne -Marie’s first feature at Bevere will leave a lasting impression.
The featured maker this month underpin the notion that ceramic art are the words that best describe so many quality ceramicists.
